Together, we will co-create a dance floor that becomes a brave and sacred space. Please be mindful of the following guidelines and gift us your presence:

Rules of Consent and Engagement:

• No phones or cameras on the floor: Be Free and Present: dance however you feel, without judgment, and practice being fully present in the moment.  

• No Shoes: Barefoot dancing is encouraged to protect the dance floor and foster a connection with the space. 

• No Talking: Ecstatic Dance is a body language-only experience, with the exception of giving consent. 

• No Substances or Intoxicants (alcohol, stimulants, or other recreational drugs): Maintaining a clear mind is crucial for fully immersing yourself in the dance experience. Let the variety and texture of sounds and music move you into a brain-immersed state.

• No touch: Please respect others' boundaries and seek consent before any physical interaction. 

• Body Language: Use eye contact and body language to communicate your intentions and desires. 

• Understand “No” Signals: crossed arms, looking away, or the prayer hands gesture may mean "no" or "done dancing". 

• Be mindful of your movement and how it impacts others, and be open to others' signals about wanting space. 

  Reminders:

• Please bring water to stay hydrated

• Wear whatever clothing that may tickle or fancy your body, and allows for free movement. ‘Costumes’ are welcome and encouraged. Anything from tutus to sweat pants, oversized shirts, or baggy yoga pants, a fun hat, or leg warmers. You are free to play with clothing and textures that suit your mood

• Pieter Performance Space is accessible by one flight of stairs and an elevator (code available upon request)

• There is a free city parking lot in the back, and usually plenty of street parking in the area.

• Restrooms available in the building are gender neutral.
